KRETS happily presents the first solo exhibition in Europe by Canadian artist Matthew Feyld (b. 1984). The selection at KRETS includes paintings and drawings that reconstruct everyday situations in a fragmented and humoristic way. Many work focus on objects (such as fruit bowls and vases) that seem simultaneously abstract and familiar. Others portray a rare cast of characters; sitting at table with potted plants, drawing or holding pineapples .
Feyld has previously exhibited at Giant Robot (New York, San Francisco), Cinders (New York), Rough Trade (London), Third Drawer Down Gallery (Australia), Together Gallery (Portland) and Grasshut (Portland). His work has also been published in NY Times Magazine and Ruby Magazine, and been shown at art fairs such as Bridge Art Fair, Aqua Art Fair and Gen Art Vanguard, in connection to Art Basel in Miami.
