Time: 19.00
Free admissionTime for another film screening at KRETS! This time we will show the two fantastic documentaries The Mindscape of Alan Moore and The Atomic Café. Each film runs for ca. 80 minutes.
The Mindscape of Alan Moore is a portrait of one of the world’s most influential comic book writers (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, etc.). A completely unique portrait in which we get to follow Moore from early childhood to the present, in a story personally told by himself. A glimpse into a world where magic, science, art and politics are joint together.

The Atomic Cafe is a collage film that, with black humor and clips from archive material from the 1940-60s, tells a story about the Cold War.

Time: 19.00
Entrance: 20 SEKSIC ALPS
”This duo may act as a substitute for the canceled gig with Mouthus. Both circulate within the American indie-noise-rock scene and both consist of drums and guitar – but Sic Alps also add vocals. I get some clear swamp rock vibes (Stooges etc.), but with hints to 60s garage music, plus one foot in the indie rock of the 90s. Will be rad! The band has released three full-length records and a bunch of singles and cassettes.” – Rickard Daun (SINGSANG)CJH
”Jonas Höglund’s solo project. Jonas has spoilt us with good music for over 10 years; from the rattling cassettes with the garage band The Daunbeats, via ”fast tracker”-synth/electro pieces, to his monotonous heavy-noise-drone-rock. Hard to put a finger on exactly how his music sounds, but whether he uses guitar, synth, ds, computer or electric violin, it nevertheless sounds damn much like Jonas in the end. With the two previous CD-r releases on rev/vega rec., I have worked myself through only 10 % of this treasure of tunes, so I’ll release a new one this very day!” – Rickard Daun (SINGSANG)Thanks to Folkuniversitetet.

DJ: Rok-Y
Time: 19.30-23
Entrance: 20 SEKDaniel Skoglund is a sound artist who works with installation, sound and music performances, as well as pure sound compositions. For his performances, he designs and builds new electronical and mechanical devices, controlled by choice and chance. Until 2003, he was a member of the duo 8TUNNEL2, acclaimed for their concerts with electrified vegetables. Since then, he has collaborated with artists such as Hans Appelqvist, Lasse Marhaug and DJ Olive, but he primarily performs solo.
”Sketches and Routines. Material and movement. Sound and Rhythm. By using self-designed mechanical and electrical devices, I once again lean on my faithful partner; chance.” – Daniel Skoglund
Jasmina Maschina makes pop music at its most beautiful and hypnotic. Folk-inspired simple melodies meet dark drones and suggestive soundscapes performed on guitar, piano, melodica and electronics. Released her debut album The Demolition Series (Staubgold/Armed Orphan) earlier this year and is also one half of the experimental duo Minit.
”Jasmina Maschina’s folk soundscapes transport you into her unique world of song. She melds the most simple and innocent chord progressions of time-honoured folk music with a noisenik’s attraction to repetition, drone and inventiveness to create the sensation of paresthesia, tingling on both the skin and mind. ”
Golden Diskó Ship is a solo project by Theresa Stroetges from Berlin. Under this alias she makes music with fragile layers of guitar drones, toy instruments, found objects, glockenspiel, computer-composed beats and dreamy vocals. Live, the music is accompanied by self-made video projections.
” Golden Diskó Ship is a one-girl-band. A mix of an original and personable guitar style, found objects, toy instruments, computer beats and sounds, and layered vocals with self-made video projections, drawing you into a unique, beautiful and immersive world of music and song.”

Time: 21.00
Free admissionKRETS follows up the previous screenings of Vinyl and I, Curmudgeon with Lovable, the final film in Alan Zweig’s trilogy. The screening starts exactly 21:00, but you are welcome from 20.00, when we will start with a selection of short films that you didn’t know you wanted to see.
”At some point, everyone has asked the question, why is it so hard to find love? In this final installment of the autobiographical trilogy that includes Vinyl and I, Curmudgeon, Alan Zweig reflects with disarming candour on why, if he longs for a partner and children, he is still single at mid-life. Through intimate, heartfelt and often hilarious interviews with a series of diverse, smart and attractive single women, Zweig explores yearnings for the romantic myths of our culture and the difficulty of finding and sustaining relationships. Some women have come to accept and prefer being alone, but many still dream of a future they can share. Rather than remaining the objective observer, Zweig approaches his female subjects as kindred spirits, sharing their vulnerability and openness. A perfect mixed tape of love songs provides the backdrop for this courageously candid look at love and longing.”
”It’s a documentary, not a drama.”

“Neu! meets Giorgio Moroder in a Philip K. Dick novel.”Bronnt is in Sweden to perform their famous soundtrack to the Swedish 1920’s film Häxan, during Fantastisk Filmfestival’s horror weekend. At KRETS we get to meet another aspect of their peculiar soundscape. We will hear songs from their upcoming record Hard for justice (Static Caravan), which on top of the melancholy synths found on the soundtrack adds influences from krautrock and Italo disco.
HENRIK KIHLBERG
Henrik presents his audio performance Var snäll stäng inte av mobiltelefonen, in which he uses a set of hellophones (the very first speakerphone model) to pick up electromagnetic fields from the audience’s cell phones in order to build a sound sculpture in real time. Kihlberg has previously played improvised music with Mittelsfär, post-minimalism with Nova Express, punk/hardcore with Bruce Banner and noise with Prakt.GALLOWS TUMOR

Free admissionJON ERIKSEN
One of Motvikt’s absolute favorites within the Swedish noise music scene is leaving the country in August, to head for the United States. Thus, it is with a mixture of sadness and pleasure that they present a final concert with Eriksen – this is most likely the last Nordic gig for a long time to come. Not many manage to produce the kind of acoustic saturation that is channeled through Jon’s overflowing arsenal, in this precise manner. Dynamics and focus in concentrated and intense doses. In other words, this is a necessary event that should not be missed!MARTIN NORDBECK
Computer- and microphone-based experiments from Martin, who in different projects has explored musical possibilities since 1996. Aside from working with atmospheric sound paintings, Martin is also a DJ in Malmö-based Million Vibes Sound.MIRRORS ARE BLACK

Time: 20.00
Free admissionTwo Tuesdays in a row, KRETS will screen documentaries by Alan Zweig from Canada. Tuesday, June 24, we begin with Vinyl (2000), which portrays a number of fanatical record collectors. Zweig, who himself belongs to this group, has established deep connections within the fandom and thereby found the collectors you never thought, or wished, existed.
Tuesday, July 1, we follow up with I, Curmudgeon (2004). Just like Vinyl, this film is based on a very simple storytelling concept. A number of eccentric personalities straightforwardly tell their stories, interspersed with scenes where Zweig shares his own introspective. In this film, the focus has been changed from record collectors to people with a radically cynical view of life, existence, everything. A collection of curmudgeons who without remorse complain over all the fucking shit this shit life has to offer. May seem a bit gloomy, perhaps. Not at all! In some strange way, there is an incredible charm in this pessimism, and some parts of the film even reach political dimensions. Hard to explain, but a must to see. The films start at 20:00, but feel free to come earlier since we will start with some odd short movies and art films at 19:00.

Free admissionThis Sunday KRETS closes for the summer, but we will still present some live music. First up is RENE SG from the Netherlands, who play insanely short and intense songs. They present themselves like this:
”A mix of Mondrian and Ramones. Fuck You, Fucking Hell, To Hell With You and Go Fuck Yourself. Titles of one-liner short songs to be played loud in space and close to the audience. Pogo-party, intellectual design. Rene Kaptyn, singer/songwriter for RENE SG, studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and after his graduation, specialized in his own unique mix of conceptual art and high-energy rock’n’roll. The band has played over 150 shows in Holland, Belgium and Germany, not only at rock venues but also at galleries and museums, like the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.”

”…is sometimes Ganesha Ernstad Rajadaun, but always Rickard Daun. Wasted ideas, found sounds and borrows from others are interwoven and recycled into new compositions. The ambition is to make simple music, and therefore I made up three rules: 1) Only three audio sources . 2) A sampling, often from folk music or b-movies. 3) My own voice. So far I haven’t succeeded a single time… The inspiration is violence, blood, death and the coming doom.”Rickard runs the record label rev/vega rec. and plays in band such as Fria Konstellationen, R.W.F, Flowers Must Die, DAUN and New Archivists.

Free admissionFria Konstellationen started as a freely improvising noise orchestra in Linköping in the summer of 2003. Nowadays, most of the members of the loosely held constellation are based in Malmö. The band’s chaotic live performances are usually described as an uncompromising mix of noise, drone and krautrock. Fria Konstellationen has performed gigs in Germany and Denmark as well as in numerous Swedish cities. Do not miss the chance to see magnificent prints, drawings, photographs and a purple tent, while listening to the tunes of mysterious Night Crotch and Mind Control Hands.
NIGHT CROTCH
The fog obscures the snow-capped mountaintop. Somewhere up there, Vietnam-veteran John Rambo is hiding. Suddenly you hear a piercing gurgling cry, as if coming from one hundred saliva-filled trumpets. A gigantic eagle, arguably at least ten feet between the tips of its wings, swoops down and destroys a gas station, a secondary school and a Taco Bell restaurant at the foot of the mountain. The eagle disappears into the fog. The silence settles again. -
