Sunday, April 26 (15.00), Bo Cavefors, Pär Thörn and Ola Ståhl will hold a discussion about the new RAF book, raf: stadsgerilla. What was the political situation like in the separated Germany during the 60s and 70s? What premises did the current power politics set for a radical opposition movement like RAF? What was the public opinion about Meinhof, Baader and the other RAF members? What differs the first generation of RAF members from the later “generations”? Would the methods and drives behind the RAF activities be conceivable in today’s Europe, with its growing gaps between social classes and with its extending poverty?
Cavefors, Thörn and Ståhl will also discuss the publisher’s initial release of raf:texter in Swedish and German. What consequences did this have for the publisher? How were the texts received by the press, the politicians and by left-wing groups? Why did Cavefors release these books?
