Time: 17.00
Free admissionThose familiar with the avant-garde scene in Malmö will find a well-known chin behind the acronym DGK. Daniel Gylling Kacz was for around a decade active as a guitarist in the noise rock-/free improv-collective Fria Konstellationen. He has also been doing some acclaimed performances under the moniker Daniel Anka and as a bingo announcer at KRETS. DGK makes music mainly using guitars and different sound-generating devices. The result is a beautiful noise somewhere in between Keiji Haino and Florian Fricke. Expect more guitars and amplifiers than numbers of people on stage.
Newly dubbed cassettes in maximized cases will be for sale.

www.pwr-hou.se”Ladies and gentlemen, you are about to witness a materialization. That means that you will see something appear in space that was not previously there. At first it will appear as a vaporous form, but finally it will be a solid body, which anyone present may feel and handle – and, for example, shake hands with. For this body will be in human shape. It will be a real man or woman – which, I can’t say – but a man or woman without known antecedents. If, however, you demand from me an explanation of the origin of this materialized form – where it comes from, whence the atoms and molecules composing its tissues are derived – I am unable to satisfy you. I am about to produce the phenomenon; if anyone can explain it to me afterward, I shall be very grateful… That is all I have to say.”

August 18 – 19, 2012

Will it be played on already existing instruments – which even today are over hundred years old – or will it be played on electronic, anatomic or mechanic instruments not yet invented? In the workshop, the participants will confront these questions, followed by a task to construct their own instruments. These will later be part of an ensemble-based installation in which visitors can perform and present their own suggestions of national hymns for the next millennium.

Time: 19-21
Free admissionThe performance starts at 19.30. Also: books, cassettes and refreshments.
Performance:
Presentation and contextualization of Pär Thörn’s new book, Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (alphabetisch).Playback and release of the cassette Inympningar i Göteborgs poesifestival 2011 with work by Peder Alexis Olsson and Pär Thörn, CO-OP, Hanna Hartman, In Edit Mode Press, Imri Sandström, Lina Selander and Andrzej Tichý.
About the book:
In Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (alphabetisch), Pär Thörn sorts all the words in Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s classic novel from 1774 in alphabetical order, and presents these in a fractured style. The result is a broken narrative order, a graphical score and a strictly bound visual text, that highlights the individual word and the typography’s materiality, rather than the actual content. This is a conceptual work thematizing readability, nationality, the legacy of typography and literary autonomy, in relation to the extended field of art.The cassette Inympningar i Göteborgs poesifestival 2011 is a documentation of a micro festival in Gothenburg in 2011, compiled by Pär Thörn and Peder Alexis Olsson, and containing audio work that were played prior to their performances at Gothenburg poetry festival (2011).

After this, the participants will be given an introduction of techniques and materials in order to start making their own collages, paperfigures and other objects, which will eventually be put together in a collaborative animated short film.

About the artist:
Amy Lockhart (b. 1975) is based in Canada where she works as a filmmaker, animator and artist. Ladies is her first solo exhibition outside of Canada and includes a series of paintings, drawings and sculptures that circles around mass-produced conceptions of body ideal and identity. Throughout Lockhart’s practice – from working processes to materials and aesthetics – there are clearly articulated hints to what is often referred to as low- or popular culture. Lockhart’s films have been shown on various international film festivals and received awards for its unique expression. Lockhart is currently working on her feature film Dizzler in MASKHERAID – a story about a superstar that can shoot laser from her eyes and who returns to her hometown for revenge, after having spent some time in rehab.Watch the trailer: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1352934276/dizzler-in-maskheraid

Free admissionIn March, Malmö-based duo Death And Vanilla release their debut album on Kalligrammfon. We celebrate this with a party at KRETS!

Death And Vanilla’s dreamy pop music draws inspiration from the psychedelic pop music of the 60s, analog electronic pioneer work and more and less marginalized film music. Spooky samplings, vibraphonette and moog are central parts of the sound, always with an obvious fascination for the super natural and mystical.Jonas Fust has made music under various aliases and published a bunch of digital releases. With roots in hiphop and dub, Jonas moves freely between different musical expressions. Later this year he will release an EP on Kalligrammofon.
